SUPER

The

2.1 Samsung Galaxy S, first unveiled at the International CTIA Wireless
2010 in March this year, is designed to provide immersive, intelligent
and integrated experiences, with the power to enrich people’s lives
through best-in-class services and technologies. The Galaxy S will allow
users around the world to experience the “Smart Life”, which Samsung
anticipates will shift the way consumers view smartphones and how they
interact with them in their daily lives.
Samsung
believes that the Android-powered Galaxy S will set a new standard for
smartphones. “The Galaxy S, with its best-of-class technology and

increasingly connected and demand more from their mobile phones,” said
Mr Sung-Hyun Moon, Managing Director, Samsung Asia Pte Ltd. “The Galaxy

their personal and professional lives.”
The

outdoors in the sun and when viewed from an angle.
The
mDNIe (mobile Digital Natural Image engine) – a technology used in
Samsung’s best-selling LCD and LED TVs – boasts an even sharper and
crisper viewing experience for photos, videos, and e-books.
With the super
fast 1GHz processor and HD video play and record functions, the Galaxy S
creates a perfect environment to record, edit and play HD video, to
browse the Internet, and to read e-books. Coupled with its SUPER AMOLED
display, Galaxy S is perfect for watching videos and Mobile TV.

variety of applications from the Android Market
allows users to extend the benefits and excitement of their smartphone
experience. Users also have access to Google

For current SingTel 3G Flexi subscribers still
under contract, they can choose to extend their
plan with the Galaxy Tab if the binding period
is over, or register for a separate mobile phone
line.
SingTel has also announced new services just for
the Galaxy Tab. De!ite (sic) app is a magazine
reader and store for local publications,
complementing Samsung's built-in Reader program,
which offers international titles. Digital
magazines are likely to cost the same, or
slightly lower, than their paper equivalent.
Moreover, the downloaded articles will not
simply replicate its physical counterpart, but
include multimedia content as well. The magazine
charges go directly to the monthly SingTel bill,
which greatly simplifies the buying process.
Another interesting feature is the exCite Video.
This program allows the user to search streaming
clips from YouTube, Tu Dou and other Internet
video sites in a simple-to-use interface. Not
only can you watch them on the Galaxy Tab, it
can also be streamed to an external display.
The abovementioned applications by SingTel are
exclusive to the Galaxy Tab and will not be
offered on other Android mobile phones.
According to Yuen Kuan Moon, SingTel's executive
vice president of Consumer Group, this is to
ensure a comfortable viewing experience
especially for digital magazines. The operator
has also classed the Galaxy Tab as the first in
the mobile multimedia device (MMD) category.
Another value-added service is the OneOffice
solution, which offers email, Web hosting,
shared documents, e-fax, calendars, scheduling
and collaboration tools online along with the
AMPed music store and MobileTV video streaming.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab will be available on
November 13, though you can preorder now at
SingTel's Web site from October 30 to get a
free Bluetooth headset along with tickets to an
exclusive Galaxy Tab party. Below are some of
the accessories showcased at the event.
